My name is Sarah Strate. I am a mother of 2 – a 10 year old girl, and a 6 year old boy. I am married to a man I’ve known for a long time. He has 3 boys, ages 9,12 and 13. Together, we like to take the kids on adventures, and travel on our own. I am a School Readiness Preschool Teacher. I have been working with young children for more than 12 years. This past year, I walked the Susan G Koman 3 Day Walk For the Cure, and plan on doing it again next year.
I have danced most of my life. Most recently, I danced in adult hip hop classes in Eau Claire, WI. Currently, I am not dancing, but busy being a dance mom. My daughter is a competition dancer, which I write quite a bit about. My son is in karate.
My favorite topics to write about include dance, my kids, our traveling adventures, my 3 Day training progress, and other bits of life in general.

Hi Sarah,
I stumbled upon your blog when I was googling my mom’s name. You mention your best friends Aunt Jodelle died of cancer and I thought that was so unusual because my mom died of cancer in 2007 and her name was Jodelle Murphy O’Brien. Jodelle is an unusual name that her parents made up combing 2 other names. I was wondering if your friends aunt and my mom were one in the same. My mom lived in southern California for 40 years. She was from Connecticut originally. Best of luck to you in your 3 day walk!

Thank you for wishing me luck. No, my friend’s aunt was named Jodelle Blumenthal. We are in MN. Interestingly, the same friend’s mom is also named Jodelle. While it’s not a common name, there are a few out there.
